Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the Font Art app for iPhone (listed on the App Store as “Font Art for Reels”) and its Font Art keyboard collect, why, and what choices you have. Font Art is published by San Thu Gao (“we”, “us”).
What we collect
| Data | Why | Processed by |
|---|---|---|
| A random anonymous user ID created on first launch | To link your subscription, settings and crash reports without an account | Google Firebase Authentication |
| Subscription status and purchase history (product, dates, price, country) | To unlock Pro, restore purchases and keep earlier purchases working | RevenueCat, Apple |
| A small user record: Pro status, app version, platform, first and last seen dates, favorite fonts and app settings | To keep your preferences and support you if something goes wrong | Google Cloud Firestore |
| Usage events (for example screens opened, features used, export or purchase started), device model, iOS version, app version, language and approximate country derived from the IP address | To understand which features people use and improve the app | Amplitude, Google Analytics for Firebase |
| Crash reports and diagnostics | To find and fix bugs | Firebase Crashlytics |
| Free plan only: your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA, only if you allow tracking when iOS asks), IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and ad interactions (ads shown and tapped) | To show ads that keep the free plan free, measure them and limit fraud. Pro subscribers see no ads. | Google AdMob, with Meta Audience Network as one of the ad sources |
| App events (install, app opened, subscription started or renewed, with product and price), a device identifier for this app (IDFV), the advertising identifier only if you allow tracking, IP address, device model, iOS and app version | To measure which of our ads on Facebook and Instagram lead to installs and subscriptions | Meta Platforms |
We do not collect your contacts, precise location, or the contents of your photo library.
Ads
The free plan may show ads from Google AdMob, which can fill them from partner networks such as Meta Audience Network. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the app asks for your consent first, and you can change your choice at any time under Settings → Privacy choices. The advertising identifier is read only if you allow tracking in the iOS prompt; you can change that in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Without it, Google may still show non-personalized ads. Google’s use of the data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
We advertise Font Art on Facebook and Instagram. To see which ads work, the app sends the app events listed above to Meta. Meta links them to your Facebook or Instagram activity only if you allow tracking; otherwise it uses Apple’s privacy-preserving ad measurement. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland nothing is sent to Meta until you agree in the consent form, and withdrawing that consent under Settings → Privacy choices stops it again.
Your designs and photos
Text, designs and projects you create are stored only on your device. If you pick a photo as a background, it is read through Apple’s photo picker and stays on your device. When you save an export to Photos, the app asks for permission to add images only; it cannot read your library.
The Font Art keyboard
The keyboard does not request Full Access. iOS therefore gives it no network access, and it does not store, log or transmit anything you type. It only reads whether you have Pro, which the app stores on your device, to unlock premium styles.
Payments
Payments are handled by Apple. We never receive your card or bank details. RevenueCat receives the purchase records Apple provides so that Pro can be unlocked and restored.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers listed above, who process it on our behalf, and when required by law. Each provider is bound by a data processing agreement to use the data only to provide its service to us and to protect it at least as well as this policy and Apple’s App Store requirements do. We do not sell or rent personal data. Google AdMob and Meta process the advertising data described above as independent controllers under their own terms.
- Google Firebase: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Amplitude: amplitude.com/privacy
- RevenueCat: revenuecat.com/privacy
- Google AdMob: policies.google.com/privacy
- Meta (app events and Audience Network): facebook.com/privacy/policy
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
How long we keep it
We keep your user record and purchase history for as long as you use the app and as needed to honor your purchases. Analytics events are kept for up to 14 months in Google Analytics and for the retention period configured in Amplitude, after which they are deleted or aggregated. Crash reports are kept for 90 days.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you can ask us to access, correct or delete the data linked to your anonymous ID, or object to its processing. Email santhugao@gmail.com and include the User ID shown in the app under Settings so we can find your data. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device; it does not cancel a subscription, which you manage in your Apple ID settings.
Children
Font Art is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the related data.
Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
